Ọ̀YỌ́ STATE GOVERNMENT SPONSORS HEALTH FOR VULNERABLE CHILDREN THROUGH INNOVATIVE PARTNERSHIP

In a remarkable display of social responsibility, the Oyo State Forum of Permanent Secretaries and Ministries-Department Agencies (MDA) has partnered with the Oyo State Health Insurance Agency (OYSHIA) to adopt 100 Vulnerable Children Under the age of 5 and new-born babes into the State Health Insurance Scheme. This initiative launched at a symbolic voucher presentation ceremony held at the Conference Room of the Head of Service, State Secretariat, Ibadan aims to provide vital healthcare access to Children from under privilege backgrounds.

Dr. Sola Akande, Executive Secretary (OYSHIA) lauded the initiative as a ground-breaking step forwards ensuring healthcare equity for all citizen. He emphasized, this is a first time that Permanent Secretaries and MDAs have come together to directly invest in the well-being of Vulnerable Children by enrolling them into Òní Memorial Children Hospital and Adeoyo Maternity Hospital, Yemetu, we are giving them a fighting chance at a healthy future.

According to the Head of Service, Mrs. Olubunmi Òní, she commended the efforts of the Agency so far and the forum for their exemplary contribution, starting this initiative perfectly embodies the spirit of giving back and supporting those in need. It Is particularly fitting that we launch it in commemoration of His Excellence, Engr. Seyi Makinde’s 56th birthday, his commitment to social Justice and inclusivity serves as a true inspiration for all of us.

The Adoption of 100 Vulnerable Children into the Health Insurance Scheme is a beacon of Hope for countless families struggling to afford Basic healthcare.
This partnership between the Oyo State Government and the dedicated civil servant sets a powerful precedent for collaborative efforts towards a healthier and more just society.
